True Summer Makeup Kit

In this post I’m giving you a peek into my professional makeup kit, at all the products I use for my True Summer clients.

I also show you how to create custom palettes and eye looks using these products.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Trumpeter Koel

These eyeshadows all come in tin pans that can be put into a magnetic palette. The Makeup Geek, Colour Pop and Rouge Bunny Rouge shadows will all fit in 26mm wells, and the Ben Nye shadows will fit in 37mm wells. They’ll all, obviously, fit in a freestyle magnetic palette.

The Ben Nye shadows can be used both wet and dry – applying with a damp brush is especially useful when using a shadow as an eyeliner.

This is a good range of mattes and shimmers, neutrals and accent colours, light to dark. There’s no matte highlight, but Beam Me up is a lovely silver which can be used as an inner corner highlight or lid colour.

The shadows I use on clients most frequently are Blue Grey and Greystone. I use Greystone through the brows.

I’ve written already about how to make your own custom palette. You can use any of the products listed above, in any of the magnetic palettes linked in that post, to create your ideal palette.

To get you started, I’ve put together some example palettes for True Summer.

Eye Looks

I used the 3ina mascara in #101 for all the looks below, and Greystone eyeshadow applied lightly through the brow.

These first three looks are simple, easy and wearable. They use 1, 2 or 3 eyeshadows, so it’s up to you how much or how little you want to do.

1 Eyeshadow

I used Chit Chat on the lid and up to the socket.

Cinderella Blue would also work here, as would any of the turquoise shadows. Blue Grey would be lovely as a subtle, more neutral look.

2 Eyeshadows

To the previous look, I added Blue Grey through the socket.

3 Eyeshadows

To the previous look, I added Greystone on the outer corner.

I haven’t used liner in these three looks, but you certainly could if you prefer.

These next three are still quite simple to create, but offer more colour and drama.

Colourful Liner

I used Royal Purple with a damp liner brush.

You could also use Peacock or Greystone.

Smoky Eye

I used Blue Grey all over the lid, up to just above the socket, and under the lower lashline, and the same with Greystone, but not blending it out as far.

I also used some Beam Me Up around the tear duct.
